I am a native English speaker with a TEFL certification, and additional certifications in the two specialty areas of Business English and TOEFL Test Preparation. Furthermore, I have a Master of Science degree and a Bachelor of Science degree. My professional background is extensive and includes ESL instruction and tutoring, corporate training, business writing/communications, corporate leadership, business management, group leadership, team building, mentoring mid-level managers and other employees, business development, academic writing/communications, book authorship, and employee hiring and evaluation. My preference is to teach Business English, however, I am quite flexible and happy to teach any aspect of ESL. Note that my resume is located below after this letter. I believe that my success in teaching, tutoring, and training -- and my success as a business executive in high-performing organizations -- has resulted from my commitment to being a professional who is energetic, determined, punctual, organized, diligent, focused, loyal, and highly productive. In particular, to the classroom, I bring skills in lesson planning, classroom management, delivering engaging lessons, testing, cross-cultural communications, and applying learning methodologies for reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, speaking, and listening. I relish taking on challenges and solving problems. I am goal and performance-driven and committed to getting the job done. My experiences as an ESL tutor and instructor have been truly rewarding. I have had the wonderful opportunity of helping learners improve their English language abilities, and I wish to continue in that capacity at your organization. In the classroom, I provide a supportive, interactive, communicative, and student-centered learning environment. I conduct myself in a friendly and patient manner. I listen actively, readily adapt to changing technologies, and diligently prepare and conduct lessons in a way that recognizes differences in learning styles. My view is that teachers must always be students, must work hard for superior outcomes, and must take the rough with the smooth. Note that, recently, I was chosen by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) (rescue.org) to write an article on ESL tutoring. The article has been published by the IRC and, if you desire, I will send the article to you. I come poised to continue my success and would be delighted to join your organization as an ESL instructor. I believe that my experiences, skills, and passion would provide much added value and contribute greatly to your organization. At your convenience, I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you for an in-depth interview. |
